DIGITAL ACCESSIBILITY

Accessibility is the ability to access a website, application, or software for people with disabilities that affects their hearing, vision, knowledge, and/or motor functions. Web Accessibility ensures that everyone can access the content and functionalities of the website regardless of any physical barriers. Permanent disability aside, the website should also make it easier for people with any other type of disabilities such a temporary, situation or conditional disabilities.

  • 56.7 million Americans are currently disabled, and no. of people aged 65 or over is expected to double to 98 million by 2060.

So, what does all this mean? If your website is not accessible, it means that you have excluded 20% of the world population from the conversation on your website. Hence, it is significant that the website is accessible to everyone to offer equal access for people with disabilities.
